Carbon Nano Tube Mini Spikes Instead of Land Mines for Sand Surrounded Territories

Let's face it, there are no shortages of problems in the world to solve, and perhaps that's nice and provides me with job security, as I do run a think tank. One of the most challenging problems of our time, and one which really rips out your heart is to see all the landmines left over from previous wars, and reinforcement of rogue nations against one another protecting man-made lines drawn in the sand. What is so unfortunate about this is that it is usually the villagers, and young people who later lose their lives and limbs accidentally tripping over the wire setting off these landmines.Okay so, what's the answer, well we had spent countless hours talking about new devices to detonate these landmines, or render them obsolete, as trinkets, souvenirs, and junk, but it's not as easy as you might think. Yes, I have several drawings, and designs of various concepts which might accomplish this task. And there have been numerous engineers, scientists, and academic researchers working on this problem for years, even decades now. In fact, Princess Diana before she died was working very hard to solve this problem, and today Richard Branson, and others have established nonprofit groups to finally, once and for all, fix this travesty of humanity.One nation has been known to take their prisoners, and those who are to be executed, and tell them to cross the minefield, and if they come out the other side, they are free to leave. Of course, they know no one will ever make it, and the individual gets blown up, which perhaps is at least a little more humane because they would have been shot by firing squad anyway, and in this case they do get a running or fighting chance. Still, I don't believe this to be the answer.What if we designed a new type of land mine which did not explode and yet, would still work to serve and fulfill the same purpose? What if we created miniature carbon nano tube spikes instead of landmines to protect borders in areas of sand? The carbon nano tube spikes would be stronger than any other material, and they would flatten tires, go through shoes, and easily disable vehicles, or cause humans once they've been punctured to turn around and change their minds.This would stop light vehicles, and humans from crossing, and if they were put out in bulk, they would serve the same purpose. But no one would ever have to die in the future, after the war was over, or the borders were opened, no one would use a limb or their lives. Further, there are some properties that have to do with carbon nano tubes which would make it rather easy with sophisticated equipment to pick them all up in the future. Just a thought, and although it may not work, it is another idea to throw into the solution box. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on.
